YOM HASHOAH – ZIUA HOLOCAUSTULUI

Luni, 24 aprilie 2017, elevii Lauder-Reut și invitații acestora au comemorat, în Sala de Festivități a Colegiului Național Matei Basarab, Yom HaShoah – Ziua Holocaustului, desfășurată sub motto-ul Speranța înnăscută din spiritul muzicii.

Au fost alături de noi Președintele Federației Comunităților Evreiești din România, domnul Aurel Vainer, Președintele Comunității Evreilor din București, domnul Paul Schwartz, ambasadorul Mihnea Constantinescu, fost Președinte al International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) în cadrul titulaturii deținute de România în 2016 – 2017, doamna Assaela Bielski-Weinstein, jurnalist și scriitor din Israel, fiica partizanului Assael Bielski din Belarus, precum și o delegație din Olanda, reprezentanți ai Ansamblului Amati, sosiți în România pentru a participa la concertul Violins of Hope, din ziua următoare, cu ocazia celebrării a 69 de ani de la înființarea Statului Israel.

Au luat cuvântul domnul Aurel Vainer și ambasadorul Mihnea Constantinescu, care s-au pronunțat pentru educație, cercetare și memorie, pentru ca acțiuni similare Holocaustului să nu se mai întâmple niciodată – Never Again – si apreciind inițiativele și activismul Complexului Educațional Lauder-Reut pentru păstrarea vie, în atenția publicului larg, a comemorărilor.

După sunetul sirenei și intonarea imnului național al Statului Israel – Hatikvah/Speranța – elevii Complexului Lauder-Reut au pus în scenă povestea unui baiețel evreu, talentat violinist, ce a pierit în Holocaust, micul Motel. Iată povestea lui tristă, una dintre multele asemenea povești ale perioadei celui de al doilea război mondial:

Astazi, in ziua a 28-a a lunii Nisan, anul 2017, ne unim in memoria a sase milioane de evrei, care au fost torturati, macelariti si arsi in lagarele mortii, instaurate de criminali nazisti si de complicii lor. In memoria tuturor victimelor, aprindem lumanarile memoriale, in memoria celor sase milioane de victime nevinovate, ucise de nazisti si de complicii lor.

Un asemenea numar, sase miloane, este de neconceput. Nimeni nu poate inchide ochii si sa-si imagineze sase milioane de oameni. Acesta este motivul pentru care ne concentram astazi asupra povestii unui copil, un mic copilas care a ramas singur impotriva masinariei de ucis naziste.

 Numele copilului este Motel. Ii placea foarte tare sa cante la vioara. Era un copil genial, intelegand prin aceasta ca era un maestru al viorii. Nu vom putea sti niciodata ce violonist talentat ar fi devenit, pentru ca Motel nu a supravietuit razboiului. Motel a fost ucis intr-un bombardament al fortelor aliate in Polonia, cand avea doar 12 ani.

Cu toate acestea, vioara lui a supravietuit si astfel a supravietuit si povestea lui Motel. Astazi vom spune povestea lui Motel si povestea viorii pe care el o indragea intr-atat. Motel nu a supravietuit razboiului, dar muzica sa da, impreuna cu speranta.

Speranta s-a nascut din spiritul muzicii.

 Motel:

Draga jurnal, astazi este duminica si este soare afara. Mie imi place tare soarele, vezi? Traim in Germania, iar aici este urat si ploios afara de obicei. In curand vom merge in gradina publica, trebuie doar sa-mi pun haina pe mine si plecam. Mama mi-a spus ca trebuie sa coasem o stea galbena pe hainele noastre, aceasta este legea, si pe stea este scris un cuvant ciudat „Evreu”.

Ce este un Evreu? Nu stiu si mi-e rusine sa-mi intreb profesorul si oricand cineva spunea mamei acest cuvant, ea plangea mereu, poate Evreu este un fel de grad respectat?

Uneori stau in camera mea pentru mult timp si cant si cant, beau lapte alb si cant fara sa ma opresc, chiar pana cand ma dor varfurile degetelor. Mama mi-a spus ca trebuie sa cant mai bine la vioara, mi-a spus ca am noroc sa am parul blond si ca nu arat ca un Evreu, dar ce este un Evreu?

 Cand te faci mare

Asteapta pana te faci mare, mi-au spus nu doar odata

Un barbat inalt si o femeie scunda

Daca nu vei manca, nu vei creste

Un baiat bun mananca tot de pe farfurie

Fa-te mare, fa-te mare si fii un general

Fii un astronaut si zboara spre spatiu

N-ai vrut sa fii nici macar un soldat

Sau sa fii ca altii cand vei creste

Dar nimeni nu te-a intrebat ce ai fi vrut sa devii.

Cand vei creste si vei vedea un baiat

Atunci spune-i micului baiat ca nu trebuie sa creasca

Si cand vei creste si vei avea propriul tau baiat

Si el va veni sa te intrebe cum este cand el va fi crescut

Atunci spune-i ca nu conteaza, ca este mai bine sa nu intrebi.

 Motel:

Iunie 1940

Dragul meu jurnal, numele meu este Motel si sunt evreu. Vreau sa-ti spun povestea mea, pentru ca sa n-o uit si pentru ca toata lumea sa o cunoasca. O bestie cruda ma urmareste si nu stiu de ce, o bestie facuta din fier si acoperita de placi de otel. Acum este iarna, zapada si frig. Dintr-o data le e tuturor frica sa mearga pe strada. De obicei stau acasa. Nici la vioara nu mai pot canta, mama spune ca nu este bine sa se stie ca suntem inca aici... L-au luat pe tata cu cateva zile in urma, nu stim unde. Mi-e dor de el, mi-e dor sa cant la vioara, si este foarte greu fara ea. Ieri mama a spus ca s-ar putea sa trebuiasca sa o vindem pentru a cumpara mancare, dar mama, ce se intampla cu hrana sufletului? Mama n-a raspuns, doar a plans si m-a strans in brate tare, tare si eu tineam vioara in mana si nu-i dadeam drumul.

Vioara a strigat la Dumnezeu

Spune lumii ca sunt inca in viata

Ochii mi-au fost inchisi

Toti prietenii mei au plecat

Doar ca pe tine nimeni nu o sa te ia.

 Motel:

M-am trezit dimineata la sunetul de impuscatura, unchiul Misha era in curte si l-am vazut plangand. Pana atunci crezusem ca numai copii plang. Mi-a spus ca multi oameni erau ucisi. Nemtii i-au talharit pe evreii din ghetto, au facut un gunoi din fiecare casa si au luat bijuteriile. Tin minte bine cum au intrat in casa noastra si au luat totul pana au ajuns la vioara, unchiul Misha l-a rugat pe ofiter sa nu ia vioara pentru ca sunt un violonist foarte talentat. Neamtul a ras si a promis ca nu o va lua daca cant „Visul unei nopti de vara” a lui Mendelssohn. Si asa, stateam in mijlocul casei in timp ce nemtii ne talhareau casa, cantand si plangand, vioara mea ramanand cu mine. 

 Tatal lui Motel:

Fiule, traim intr-o perioada in care o bestie cu fata umana ne vaneaza pentru a ne ucide. Fiule, nu te-am putut salva de ghearele sale, doar o ultima binecuvantare inainte ca tu sa fugi in padurea infrigurata: Salveaza-ti sufletul pentru ca este sfant, de la blestem – blestem si binecuvantare – binecuvantat sa fii! Si fugi acum catre padure si poate acolo vei fi in siguranta.

 Motel:

Pana la urma am fost fortat sa-mi parasesc parintii si sa fug in padure, a fost o zi crancena... Mi-am jurat ca ma voi alatura partizanilor pentru a lupta contra nemtilor, si asta am facut. Am luat un sac si vioara mea, care mi-a fost singura familie de atunci incolo si am fugit.

 Tatal lui Motel:

Ai fost curajos si ai fugit in padure chiar daca nu erau sanse mari si ai supravietuit. Intotdeauna vei fi Motel al meu si vei continua sa canti la vioara, ca Mendelssohn, ale carui degete erau fermecate.

 Motel:

Datorita cantatului am reusit sa ma apropiu de nemti, chiar daca ii dispretuiam. Am cantat la petrecerile lor murdare si am vazut cat de fericiti erau... dar in adancul meu, ii uram tare.

Le-am ascultat conversatiile pentru a da mai departe informatia lui Kavner, comandantul rezistentei. Odata ce i-am spus despre un transport de evrei planificat pentru lagarele mortii si despre un convoi nemtesc care trebuia sa treaca prin padure pe care l-am asteptat si in acea noapte Dumnezeu a facut putina dreptate... ciudat, am vazut ca sangele lor este la fel de rosu ca al nostru...

 Mama lui Motel:

La inceputul razboiului, familia noastra avea opt membrii, acum esti singurul ramas, esti singurul supravietuitor. O calatorie grea te asteapta, fiule. Trebuie sa traiesti pentru a le vorbi celorlalti despre trecut si sa continui sa canti, canta fiule si fa-i pe oameni sa fie fericiti si fa-i sa planga. Ai incredere in Dumnezeu, El nu ne va abandona, iti promit, stii unde este Dumnezeu? El este in muzica, da, El este in vioara ta si la varfurile degetelor tale.

 Kavner, comandantul rezistentei:

Motel, fiule, esti foarte curajos, informatia pe care ne-ai adus-o a fost foarte folositoare. Dar in principal imi aduc aminte de tine cantand pentru noi in serile reci tu, draga Motel, ne-ai ridicat moralul, cantecul tau a fost mai de folos decat o suta de bombe. Cantai la vioara si noi cantam cu tine, cata forta avea cantecul nostru...

 Motel – monolog final:

Cand am trecut puntea, eram sigur ca nemtii vor reusi cu planul lor si ca pana la sfarsitul razboiului nu vor ramane decat cinci evrei in toata lumea...

Dupa aceea ma vor gasi si ma vor hrani, ma vor pune intr-un muzeu, impreuna cu vioara mea, un muzeu mare din centrul Europei – un Muzeu Evreiesc, unde vor sta oamenii la coada pentru a vedea vestigiile unei rase disparute.

Din viata mea de mai demult nu a ramas nimic, nici macar cutia postala rosie care era la coltul strazii. Nu pot conteni din a ma intreba – de ce eu? De ce am supravietuit?

 Comandantul lui Motel:

Ei bine, de fapt, Motel nu a supravietuit, ar fi fost sfarsitul pe care mi-l doream, si sfarsitul care trebuia sa fie... dar Motel a fost ucis intr-un bombardament al artileriei pe 13 octombrie si avea numai 12 ani. Tot ce mi-a ramas de la el este vioara lui. Mi-as fi dorit sa mor eu in locul tau, tu aveai un talent superb, Motel al meu, un baiat de aur mult iubit, dar moartea este stapana Germaniei, un stapan mai mare decat tu sau eu. Mi-a ramas doar vioara, doar vioara.

La finalul comemorării, doamna Assaela Bielski Weinstein, soția meșterului Amnon Weinstein din Israel, restaurator al viorilor ce au răsunat în Holocaust și initiator al proiectului Violins of Hope, ne-a dezvăluit, cu lacrimi în ochi, două alte asemenea povești ale perioadei.

În cele două zile care au urmat, 8 viori recuperate din lagărele de concentrare și de la supraviețuitori ai Holocaustului au prins din nou viață pe scena Ateneului Român și la Palatul Regal, sub mânuirea unor artiști de anvergură internațională, precum Gil Sharon, Evgenia Epshtein, Irina Simon-Renes, Sevil Ulucan-Weinstein, alături de elevii Eveline Doija, Călin Diacicov, Aaron Mirea, Sofia Smărăndescu, precum și contrabasiștii Hillel Zori, Teresa Beldi, violoncelistele Aida-Carmen Soanea și Miriam Hartman-Beazley și pianistul Andrei Licareț.

Să nu uităm niciodată!
